How does your pricing work?

All residential carpet, upholstery and curtain cleaning is priced by the area to be cleaned at our set rates, with a minimum charge of £50. Online carpet cleaning prices are based on average sized rooms and rooms over 200 square foot in size will be quoted seperately. We have three levels of service so you can just choose a service level that meets your needs. Specialty cleaning is priced by the hour with a minimum 2 hour charge. Commercial work is charged by the square foot and takes into account the level of soiling in the carpet.

How can I pay?

All jobs are payment on completion. You may pay by cash or by cheque, made payable to HP Mitchell.For Commercial jobs the payment method is either payment on completion or you may pay on account (Accounts Receivable) if you have submitted a credit application and have been approved for payment terms prior to your cleaning.

Why don’t you charge by square footage?

Most consumers don’t know the exact dimensions of the areas to be cleaned, so in order to give an exact quote over the phone or online that we can honour, we price residential jobs by the area (all rooms over 200 square foot will be quoted seperately). We do calculate our prices by square footage for commercial cleaning.

Do you guarantee stain removal?

We cannot ethically guarantee 100% stain removal, because no carpet or upholstery is absolutely stain-proof. We also cannot guarantee removal of non-food substances: vomit, blood, medication, urine, makeup, soil filtration lines or other staining substances. We also cannot guarantee removal of stains or spots that have been previously worked on, however you can rest assured that our technicians will do everything technically correct to try to remove all stains.

What makes your company different from other cleaning companies?

We are a premium service company that guarantees a minimum of one hour per job. This allows us to do a pre-inspection, allows the proper dwell time for our cleaning solutions to be most effective, and allows us to do a proper post-inspection upon completion of the job. We use eco friendly cleaning solutions that are safe for the whole family, children and pets . We move and replace most furniture, we use corner guards to protect your walls from our hoses, and our technicians wear shoe covers to ensure that they do not track dirt around your home. All our technicians are trained to international standards, they arrive in uniform, drive a sign written van, and follow a set price list for all services.

Why don’t you match some competitor prices?

In the past carpet cleaning companies have had a bad reputation for “bait & switch”- offering a low price to get you to book an appointment. Once you have taken time out of your schedule, and they are there to do the cleaning, they add on extra fees for sanitising, deodorising, pre vacuuming, pre spraying, waste water handling, travel, fuel, etc. Often the customer ends up with a bill that is several times the original amount quoted. At Sutton Carpet Cleaning, we believe in clear, up-front pricing. The price you are quoted over the phone or online is the same price you pay in the home unless you decide to have additional areas cleaned or you decide to upgrade your service level. All technicians have a set price list with them and all areas are charged at the same rate, so you can rest assured that you get the same price as every other satisfied Sutton Carpet Cleaning Carpet Cleaning client.

How long will it take to dry?

Our primary cleaning machines are powerful twin vac high pressure portable machines that are able to extract more moisture than  smaller machines, allowing dry times for most carpets between 1-2 hours. Exceptions may include apartments where we are required to clean with our smaller portable units, causing drying times to increase to 2-4 hours. We also place air movers in the cleaning area and leave them in place while we are packing away, this greatly reduces drying times.

Do you do after hours cleaning?

Yes, with advance notice, we can have technicians available for any special cleaning needs or unique circumstances.

What will the arrival time for my technician be?

Our technicians are scheduled 3 jobs per day. Due to traffic delays, changes to work orders and unforeseeable circumstances we cannot give exact arrival times. The approximate arrival times we strive for are between 9:00-9:30 A.M. 12:00-12:30 P.M. and 3:00-3:30 P.M.

What do I have to do to prepare?

All that needs to be done to prepare for your carpet cleaning is to move any breakable items out of the cleaning areas. We move and replace most common, moveable household furniture. According to our business insurance, our technicians cannot safely move pianos, TVs, computers, china cabinets, wardrobes, L-shaped setees and other large or fragile items.

How often should carpets be cleaned?

Carpet Manufacturers and respiratory specialists recommend getting a professional cleaning at least every 12-18 months. Your carpets, upholstery, and mattresses act as air filters in your home and trap contaminants. If you are waiting for your carpets to look soiled before cleaning, then you are waiting too long. Schedule your cleaning on a regular cycle to ensure a clean in-home air environment.

Do you reuse water?

No. We have separate clean and waste water tanks in our machines, and the two never come in contact. We also have a fresh water filling system and used-water removal system.

Can you clean apartments?

Yes, we use the same eco products and our 6 jet titanium wands and Drimaster upholstery tools. We use a high powered portable unit where possible to provide power. heat and suction so our technician will need access to a water source (water tap) and a disposal area (the proper recommended disposal area is a bathroom toilet).

What is a specialty clean?

Specialty cleaning is required when we are asked to deal with major or excessive stains such as urine, blood, wine, vomit, faeces, water, etc. “Major” or “Excessive” is defined as being more than 5 separate spots of one type of stain, or a stain that is more than 1 square foot in size. Because specialty cleaning requires extended time, effort, and specialised topical treatments, an hourly rate of £70.00 is charged on top of the regular per area or per square foot rates for the entire invoice.

What is the difference between a spot and a stain?
A spot is any foreign substance that adds texture to fibre.A stain is anything that adds to or deletes the colour of a fibre. Obviously, stains are not easily removed and usually are permanent, whereas spots are more readily cleaned up.

Do you offer a same day service?

Often we can accommodate same day appointments, but it is always best to call at least one week in advance to assure you receive the time slot you desire.

How far in advance should I schedule my appointment?

We usually have 1 morning appointment and 2 afternoon appointments per day. Weekends and morning appointments fill up very quickly, so we advise booking at least 1 week in advance to assure the time slot desired.

Do you clean in my area?

Areas of coverage are listed on this site but if you require cleaning outside of our area of coverage please call and we will advise you of the cost of us doing the work or we will recommend another professional cleaning company.

I can’t find the exact areas I want to have cleaned on your price guide!

Since all of our areas are priced by an average size room, just choose the package that fits your requirements and choose rooms of a similar size. When we call back to confirm your on-line booking, you can change the names of the areas. You can also write in the email the names of the rooms you want cleaning.

What is a through lounge?

In many modern developments (especially apartments, basement suites and townhouses) there is no obvious separation between living room and dining room areas. For our purpose of defining areas, a living room and dining room that flow together and are connected will be considered two separate areas. Stairs connect one level to another. If there are more than one flight of stairs please enter the total amount when making your calculation.

Is carpet and upholstery protector included in your base price?

Sutton Carpet Cleaning protector is not included in our base price unless you choose our gold service. Although carpet manufacturers suggest reapplying protector with every professional carpet cleaning, we leave that choice up to each individual customer. All technicians carry plenty of protector with them at all times so if you decide that you want it after booking, you can always have it applied. Just call us and we will arrange for the technician to do this for you.

Can you help with the black lines around the edges of my rooms?

These are called soil filtration lines or draught marks and we have edge cleaning tools and special cleaning solutions that are guaranteed to remove or significantly reduce these. Sometimes these stains will become permanent and unless the problem is rectified they will always return in the future.
